This policy explains what personal information Tera2Nano collects when you use our website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need.

Who we are
Tera2Nano (“Tera2Nano”, “we”, “us”) is a technology company that builds intelligent products and engineered digital systems. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Tera2Nano is the data fiduciary / controller of the personal information described in this policy.

Information we collect
We collect information in three ways.
- Information you give us in the project contact form: your name, work email, company, budget range, timeline and project brief.
- Information you give us when you apply or join our talent community: your name, email, phone number, academic year or experience level, portfolio or GitHub link, cover note and résumé. See also our Candidate Privacy Notice.
- Account information if you create an account: your name, email address and a password, which is stored only in hashed form.
- Technical information generated automatically when you visit: IP address, browser type, device information and the pages requested. This is recorded in the logs of our hosting and delivery providers.
- Preferences stored in your browser, such as your theme choice and your cookie choice. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss a project with you.
- To review job and internship applications and contact candidates.
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To operate, secure and improve the website, and to prevent abuse and fraud.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.
Basis for processing and consent
We process personal information on the basis of your consent (for example, when you submit a form), because it is necessary to respond to a request you make, because we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our website, or because the law requires it. Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time by writing to us; withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States and India. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
How long we keep information
- Project enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a project follows.
- Candidate applications: up to 12 months after the role closes, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we hire you.
- Accounts: until you delete the account or ask us to.
- Server and security logs: kept for a short period set by our hosting provider.
Retention periods are reviewed regularly, and information is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a portable copy, and to nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf. To exercise any of these, email support@tera2nano.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
How we protect information
The website is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, session cookies are marked HttpOnly and Secure, and access to systems is restricted to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Security page for more detail.
Children
Our website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and we will make the change prominent if it is significant.
